Obituary

With deep sorrow, but also with the hope and peace found in Christ, we announce the passing of Aaron Mattheu, who entered into eternity with Jesus on May 26, 2026, at the age of 45.

Aaron was incredibly intelligent, thoughtful, and uniquely gifted. He had a brilliant mind and a spirit that made a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him. Though he faced many struggles throughout his life, his family deeply loved him, and his life mattered greatly to all who knew him.

Above all, we are grateful for the assurance of Aaron's salvation and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. While this loss shatters our hearts, we find comfort in knowing Aaron is now free from pain, fully at peace, and in the presence of his Savior. Because of God's grace, we know this goodbye is not forever.

Aaron is survived by his loving family, including his "Daddy" John Mattheu, "Mommy" Janice Mattheu (Schrantz), step-Mother Barbara Mattheu, "Sissy Lena" Angela Aultman and brother-in-law Jimmy Aultman, brother Mark Mattheu, sister Megan McCormick, step-brothers David, Jack, and Derrick Densmore, niece Lillie Aultman, nephews Tommie Cavin III and Miller Aultman, and many other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Aaron's life reminds us all how fragile and precious life truly is. In his memory, his family encourages others to hold their loved ones close, seek reconciliation, extend grace, and most importantly, come to know Jesus Christ personally. Our greatest hope is that through faith in Him, we may one day all be reunited again in Heaven.

"God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18
