A Letter to Mom

Growing up as a child, I remember your presence being so engaging and large that I couldn't escape it and didn't want to because of the enormous amount of love I felt surrounding me. You had the amazing ability to multi-task without missing a beat to achieve whatever was in front of you. You took care of the household when it came to your children in regard to ensuring we had clothes on our backs, food in our tummies, and being enrolled in school to get an education, as well as the bills consistently being paid the majority of the time.

You wanted more for us than you had growing up as a child yourself, as well as your adulthood. You made many sacrifices so that we would have, to ensure our well-being.

The last thing I remember the last time I visited you, you were asking me if I was hungry or needed gasoline for my vehicle so you could pay for it, when we were driving to the lakefront (Michigan) in downtown Milwaukee, WI.

The scripture that comes to mind when I think of you is:

1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV

"And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love."

Thank you, Mom, for showing me what true unconditional love is…. I'll see you soon.

Love, Kelly
