Casamere "Casey"
Anthony Maniaci
Jun 13, 1947 — Apr 29, 2021
On Thursday, April 29, 2021 Casey Maniaci passed away peacefully in Wauwatosa, at the age of 73. He was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin to Casamere and Marcella (nee) Meyer Maniaci on June 13, 1947.
After moving to Wauwatosa with his family during his teen years, he attended Wauwatosa East High School, graduating in 1966. While there, he played varsity football, earning a full scholarship to a college in Kansas.
Casey loved people and had the "gift of gab," which suited him well in all his endeavors. He worked as a professional real estate salesman, sold educational children's books, and owned and operated the "Comstock Lode," a popular watering hole located on the East side of Milwaukee. Casey was a lifelong republican, who never shied away from sharing his views on politics, which led to many lively debates within an otherwise fiercely democratic family.
Casey was preceded in death by his father Casamere, mother Marcella, and his grandson Alexander Tilke. He is survived by his beloved daughter Gina (Frank) Tilke of Oneonta, New York, and his grandsons Andrew (Yulia) of Fayettville, North Carolina and Tristen Tilke, who is in the Navy, stationed in Honolulu, Hawai. Further survived by sisters, Roselyn (the late Halsted Stewart) and Marcia (John) Harvieux, nieces, nephews and many other friends and relatives. He is survived by his ex-wife and good friend Winnifred Seward.
In his early years, Casey attended Redeemer Lutheran Church on 19 th and Wisconsin Avenue. During his last years he returned to the church and to a faith in God. It became apparent to all who knew him well, that this new faith had given him a strong sense of peace and a more positive attitude toward life.
A memorial gathering will be held at Brett Funeral Home on Sunday, May 16 from 1 until 3PM.
