Ms. Donnie Mae Currie was born on August 16, 1951, to the union of Mr. Arthur and Cleola Brown in Fordyce, Arkansas. She received her formal education at Thornton High School in Thornton, AR. Donnie accepted Christ as her Savior at at an early age. She was employed by Froedtert Hospital as a certified nursing assistant for 20 years. In her leisure, she enjoyed traveling, watching movies, playing cards, and watchinggame shows.

Donnie Currie departed this life on August 17, 2024. She was preceded in death by her: parents, Arthur and Cleola Brown; seven sisters, Nettie, Versie, Hattie, Lucille, Lorea, Arlene, and Segrid and four brothers, Thomas, James, John D., and Collin Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Earnest Damon Scott; daughters, Katrina (Iveco) Gibbs and Erica Currie; three sisters, Alma (Curtis) Mitchell, Bobbie (William) Davis, both of Flint, MI, and Lena (Lewis) Tolbert of Clarksville, TN; brothers, Charles (Ethel) Brown and Rickey Brown, both of Flint, MI; and five grandchildren, Iveco Jr., Damondria, Diamond, Zaria, and Carson; Special niece, Barbara Thrower and a host of friends and family. A memorial gathering will be held at Brett Funeral Home on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 11:00AM until 12:30PM with a period of reflection at 11:30AM.
