Ione contracted COVID and died within several days on February 9, 2021 at the age of 95 years.  Her daughter was so grateful to be holding her hand when her mother took her last breath.  Left to cherish her memory are her children Michael, Dan, Chuck, and Rebecca, grandchildren Jordan, Lillian, Max, and Colman, sister Shirley Bowman, brother Donald Boehm, special cousin Sis, and other relatives and friends.  Ione's son Kip preceded her in death as well as a sister and three brothers.

Ione retired from MATC and then went on to receive a two-year Theology Degree in Texas.  She received wonderful care at Village of Manor Park Nursing Home and finally at Zilber Family Hospice.  A celebration of her life will be held in the summer of 2021.
