In Loving Memory of James R. Ellis

October 27, 1961 - December 5th, 2024

James (Jim) R. Ellis, 63, of Watertown, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer.

Born on October 27th, 1961 in Chicago, IL, James was the son of the late James M. Ellis and Brenda Alene Wilson. He is preceded in death by his beloved brother Keith Ellis. Jim attended Reavis High School in Burbank, IL.

Known for his quick wit, easy charm, and a rich blend of creative talents, Jim will be remembered as a steadfast and supportive friend, someone with whom confidences came easily, and for his ability to bring levity and lightness to even the most trying moments.

Jim had a lifelong passion for music and played the guitar with skill and soul. He was also talented with automobiles, able to fix almost anything on wheels, and proudly owned his own mechanic and handyman business for much of his life. Ever a nature lover, Jim enjoyed taking long drives with no destination, embracing adventures both big and small along the way.

A proud veteran, Jim served his country in the United States Navy.

As Jim lived his life, he embodied the sentiment: "You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough."

He is survived by his two daughters, Lauren and Heather, who will strive to embody the better parts of his nature with their inherited cleverness, talents, and sensitivity.

Jim leaves behind a legacy defined by laughter, adventure, a generous spirit, and a lust for life. May he rest in peace.
