Obituary

Margaret Kathleen Austin
August 5, 1976 – February 13, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Margaret Kathleen Austin on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the age of 48. Born on August 5, 1976, to Margaret Jorgenson and Larry Austin, Margaret was a vibrant force of nature from the very beginning. Her light in this world will never dim, and the memories she created will forever be cherished.

Margaret embraced life with an adventurous spirit and an unwavering love for those around her. She found joy in traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with family and friends. Famous for her signature "MAGaritas" and her love of cooking, she always insisted on making a dish, not just to contribute but because she secretly knew she could make it better. She had a unique way of bringing warmth and energy into every room she entered.

She had a natural ability to connect with people, a gift that made her career as a hairdresser more than just a job, it was a passion. Margaret loved making people feel beautiful, not just on the outside but on the inside, too. Her clients quickly became friends, and many of them became family. Sitting in her chair was more than just a haircut; it was a time to laugh, to share stories, and to be reminded that someone truly cared. Her ability to brighten someone's day with a kind word, a joke, or a heartfelt conversation was one of her greatest gifts.

Above all, Margaret had a heart for helping others. She was the first to volunteer, whether it was helping a friend move, bringing something to a gathering, or simply asking, "How can I help?" Her nurturing spirit and generosity left an unforgettable impact on everyone she met.

Margaret is survived by her beloved children, Gretta, Norman, and Eva Hareng; her mother, Margaret Jorgenson; her brother, Matthew (Alexandra) Austin; her sister, Maureen (Aaron) Golembiewski; her grandmother, Suzanne Hyatt; her step-sister, Nicole (Chris Ertl) Lasocki; her step-brother, Mikey (Autumn) Lasocki; her life partner, Joshua Hartig; and many nieces and nephews who will always hold her memory close to their hearts.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hales Corners Lutheran Church, 12300 W Janesville Rd. #2350, Hales Corners, WI 53130, followed by a service immediately after.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Spot Fund account in Margaret's honor http://spot.fund/4rr351fsc.

Margaret's kindness, laughter, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
